Okay - first, we had an ice storm up here that has not stopped causing problems. There are still areas that have no electrical power, and the utility companies involved (the two who have the most customers without power are Unitil and PSNH) are still working on restoring power for those customers. Now - we have an incredible snow storm going on as I write this. The snow started falling at around 2:30PM (it is now almost 5:00), and so far the unofficial pile outside my back door is about 3 inches deep. The forecast for this area is a total of between 6 and 12 inches when it is all done.
As I see it, there are a couple of things that people will not complain about. One is that we will be having a white Christmas. The other is that the local ski areas (the two that I'm thinking of are Pat's Peak and Crotched Mountain) will have natural snow to add to what they have on the ground.
The word is that it will blow out of here later tonight. However, another one is on the way and should be here late Saturday/early Sunday. It's a good thing we bought a snow blower because at least we'll be able to keep our driveway and walks clear and, with luck, I won't tumble when I go outside....
Today has been a bad day for me. I woke up this morning with what felt like a knife stuck in my heel. After getting my act together for the day I still had some discomfort which suddenly got worse very quickly. That scuttled my plans to attempt to Christmas shop, and this was bad enough that I needed to resort to taking pain medication, something I hadn't done since the cast was taken off in October. But it helped; I started to feel better after noon, and as I write this it's not bad. I'm actually able to get around without a lot of difficulty. At least for now. And - no swelling. That's a pleasant surprise.
Stay safe on the roads, and let's hope that those who still don't have their power restored have alternatives that they can rely on. And stay warm. While it's not bitter cold outside right now, it's cold enough. I'm looking at 22 degrees F outside of my house....

The nasty weather may be causing your pain:( Since I am south of you (PA) we are also going to get hit again, but probably not as bad as you. But 4 inches of freezing rain and sleet for Sunday sounds very dangerous. I hope we don't loose power, I have an all electric house:( Hope you feel better and can enjoy your holiday!
Watch out for those tendons if you're outside clearing snow. About a foot south of Boston, but I have the use of my neighbor's behemoth 26 inch snow blower.
Sadly, it only stopped snowing for about two hours before it started again. That wasn't supposed to happen.
We have a 24 inch Husqvarna, which is really nice.... The honor of clearing the driveway and walks goes to my lovely and talented wife, and she loves using the machine (sick woman that she is).
I, unfortunately, still don't have the flexibility or strength in my left leg to do anything with it. The ortho guy is still not letting me do anything of consequence, either. Range of motion is okay, but nothing that involves the potential for stress.
That's for the best, I think. If your wife is willing and able to perform the manly snow clearing duties, you're in good shape. :)
I loved using my neighbor's machine. It gave me a bad case of the "I wants", but fortunately I don't have to buy as he gave me carte blanche to borrow it whenever I need it. It's nice to have neighbors like that.

Throughout history cold periods have been the worst times for humanity, warm ones have been better for human prosperity.
The CNN Meteorologist saying that the Man-Made Climate Change theory is "arrogant" is a great advancement in the cause of educating the masses with the truth. Hopefully more of the MSM will start speaking out. The word is spreading, tell all your friends and family, and tell them to do the same.
Gore and his Man-Bear-Pig. The politicians on board with this scam must be simply out of their minds.
For one thing, there’s plenty of oil and NG, we just need to drill for it and refine it. Also expand and improve nuclear, wind, hydro, solar and hemp fuel.
Can’t anybody talk some sense into Gore, McCain, Bush and Obama about how temperatures rise first, and THEN carbon-dioxide levels rise.
Carbon-dioxide doesn’t cause warming, sun activity does, warming causes CO2 levels to rise.
