This really gave me cause to stop and think.
I can't take credit for finding this on my own - it actually has been commented on at two other blogs I read. Both Fr. Tim Finigan and The Anchoress have talked about the below clip, and after I watched it I realized I was sort of stopped in my tracks....
First, the clip:
For anyone that is familiar with Penn Jillette, he is firm in his belief that God does not exist. Certainly he's entitled to that; nobody can take it away from him. But that isn't what I found so stunning in his talk. One of the last comments he makes is the following:
“How much do you have to hate somebody to believe that everlasting life is possible, and not tell them that?”
Regardless of what you believe (or don't believe), he's right. And it is something to think about. I know I will be....
